Smartphones, Tablets Replacing P&S Cameras But Not Laptops

An article in BizReport reports that though smartphones and tablets are getting more popular, they are nevertheless not replacing the computer yet.

I guess this is to be expected. After all it took many years to cram so much power and performance into a laptop, which now features high resolution screens, powerful CPUs and long battery life. It will take a number of serious iterations before a tablet can claim to better a laptop in performance and flexibility of use.

The report found that smartphones and tablets are, however, slowly but surely replacing alarm clocks, GPS devices and [point-and-shoot] digital cameras.
