QUICKFACT SHEET

C is for Compact. The Sony A7C (aka a7C, α7C, Alpha 7C) is a full-frame mirrorless camera for serious and advanced-level photographers. Sony has basically taken the Sony A7 III and successfully crammed it into an APS-C-sized body. Billed as “the world’s smallest and lightest full-frame camera,” the Sony A7C is fully featured with many professional-grade features, accessories and lenses.

Sony A7C

Like the Sony A7 III, the Sony A7C features a full-frame 24.2MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor, 5-axis IBIS (In-Body Image Stabilization), continuous shooting at up to 10 fps (8 fps in live view mode), Video at 4K/24P, 4K/30P (cropped) or Full HD/120P, a 2.95-inch vari-angle Touch LCD monitor with 921K-dot resolution.

What’s improved is that the A7C has Sony’s latest and better AI-based Real-time tracking AF (Face, Eye, and Animal), the AF is a bit more sensitive at -4EV, and it uses the higher-capacity NP-FZ100 battery.

The A7C has a smaller 2.35M-dot XGA OLED Tru-Finder™ EVF with only 0.59x magnification, a single SD card slot, and it does not have a Front Dial or an AF joystick.

There are a number of connectivity features that make the A7C practical for those who post to social media sites. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow for remote Live View shooting and easy transfer of images to your smartphone or tablet. You can use the A7C as a webcam (Imaging Edge Webcam software free to download) for livestreaming and even use it to video chat by connecting it to a compatible BRAVIA TV.

Of course, the Sony A7C is supported by a system of high quality lenses, vertical grip, external flashes, microphones, monitor hood, shooting grip with wireless remote commander, grip extension, and software that further expand the shooting system.
