High Dynamic Range (HDR) is a big topic today across the production industry. HDR displays promise to produce up to 14+ stops of dynamic range on the screen. This is nearly twice as much as most consumers see on their current standard dynamic range (SDR) displays. While this technology is still evolving for most companies, Sony has a working solution today for both capture and display of HDR content. The Sony F5 & F55 cameras can record in 16 Bit Linear Raw data with 14 stops of dynamic range. Sony also has a new X300 4K OLED professional display and X940C consumer display capable of showing back this full range. Seeing HDR is important for understanding why it is so important, so we have put together an event with Sony to show this unique workflow.
