Sony To Announce Full Frame Compact Mirrorless RX1

Rumors are that Sony is poised to announce what would amount to an earth-shaking introduction: the first full-frame compact mirrorless that is as small as a four-thirds compact mirrorless. Did someone say this was technically not feasible?

So, come meet the Sony RX1, Wednesday September 12, 2012 at midnight ET (in other words, stay up Tuesday night).

The Sony RX1 does not appear to be an ILC (Interchangeable Lens Camera) but can this be far behind? Will Canon and Nikon stay on the sideline and still view “mirrorless” as just another category (and a point-and-shoot one at that)? We think not, as one or both appear to also be poised with major announcements (without the leaks).

We have been saying this for a while now: mirrorless is the future of cameras.
