State of the Photography Industry 2011

Photo Industry Reporter surveys the state of the photography industry by asking 36 industry spokespersons to express their viewpoints on the changing needs of the “digital consumers.” The rise of the mobile phone and social media has permanently changed the photography landscape, with many people now using their cell phones to take snapshots and posting their pictures online. Of particular interest for our readers are those statements expressed by the camera manufacturers, though we warn you ahead of time that it mostly reads like marketing literature. It does, however, gives an interesting indication of where companies are thinking of putting their focus.
