View video

Even as some of you wonder what this video is all about, a few of us still remembers: the photographic darkroom, the smell of the developer and fixer solutions, the dodging and burning, the red light bulb in the ceiling… and inevitably the banging on the bathroom door by a member of the family who got tired waiting for us to enlarge a few prints.

Artist Richard Nicholson has set out to capture photographic darkrooms across London before they all disappear.
