The real news, of course, is that the RED camera is slowly but surely making inroads into mainstream businesses. Featuring modular components, the RED One body retails for US $17,500 — relatively inexpensive compared to the Digital Cinema cameras traditionally used (from Panavision, Dalsa, Arri, SI and Sony) by the movie industry and costing 5-20 times more.
