Twitter Photo Sharing Features #hashtag

From Twitter

Will it fly off and conquer the photo/video sharing space? Twitter has launched images search using hashtag keywords so that finding all pictures (or videos) related to #launch, for example, becomes easy — though a search for #launch on Twitter does not return many images and certainly not those in the video ad [Booh! It should have been an easy enough exercise to tweet those images in, isn’t it?].

So if you take pictures of your child’s birthday party and hashtag it #perfectmoment, you (and friends and family) can quickly and easily bring them up if they know what hashtag to search for. The problem: so can everyone else who searches on that hashtag. And unsavory pictures tagged with that hashtag will also show up. Tsk, tsk!

A new version of Firefox with Twitter allows you to type a #hashtag or @username directly into the address bar of your browser to go right to a search results page. Who’s hosting all the photos? Photobucket.
