What 24 Hours of Air Traffic Look Like From Satellite

This timelapse condenses 24 hour into 2 minutes. Each yellow dot represents one aircraft. As the Earth spins on its axis, you can see daylight shift from East to West. Most long distance flights depart the US at night, so you’ll notice the dots leave the US at night to arrive in Europe the next morning.

You can also see clearly where the concentration of air travel is on Earth. Cool!
