What Color Is Your SKin? There’s An App For That!

Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd announced that it has developed a technology to accurately check the color and state of human skin by using a smartphone camera. The technology makes use of “color patch” — a credit card-sized card with a 15mm-diameter hole and different color samples printed around the hole. Snapshots of the target skin peeking through the hole are taken with a smartphone camera in various lighting and an app installed in the smartphone compares the color of the skin with the color samples to determine an accurate skin color. Fujitsu is hoping the cosmetic industry will latch onto the technology.

[Perhaps the technology can also be used to determine accurate hair color, too?]
