Playing With Infinite Light Reflections

As a child, when you first discover that you can “create infinity” by placing two mirrors facing each other, it blows your mind. Korean artist Chul Hyun Ahn uses this simple two-mirror concept to portray the complexities of infinity.

In fact, he often uses three mirrors: two mirrors placed at the bottom of a light box, but angled differently, to reflect the light in different directions. Then, to create the infinite reflections, he places a one-way mirror on top of the lightbox. Because the light bar in the lightbox is brighter than the outside room from where we are viewing the lightbox, we can see through the half-silvered mirror to see an infinite reflection of light effects.
