If you were fortunate enough to catch yesterday night’s lunar eclipse, you’re probably still in awe over the experience. It was an incredibly clear night and I just had to step out and look up to see it. But for those of you who had better things to do (such as sleeping), don’t worry, here’s a video from William Castleman of what you missed:

Time lapse video of Winter Solstice Lunar Eclipse on December 21, 2010 from 1:10 AM EST (6:10 GMT) to 5:03 AM EST (10:03 GMT) from Gainesville Florida. Music is Claude Debussy Nocturnes: Sirènes.
I think the composition is above average and that many of the shots would work well as stills. I don’t understand the compression artifact riddled shouts of snow falling though. As far as short films go, this is good; however, it does not stand out as exceptional relative to it’s peers. Oscar is a bit much.
That stated, it’s good work and I would be proud of it.
